Hollywood Icon Elizabeth Taylor Dead At 79

Network news outlets have reported that Academy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Taylor died in the early Wednesday morning. At press time, Good Morning America, BBC and the Today Show, among others, had all either tweeted or announced on air that Taylor passed away. Taylor was admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital after suffering from congestive heart failure in early February.

The 79-year old actress won two Oscars and has over 70 acting credits to her name, including Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, and voicing Maggie on The Simpsons for one episode. She was as famous for her talent as an actress as she was for her knack for the movie business — in 1960, Taylor became the highest paid actress of all time after negotiating a $1 million contract for Cleopatra.

RIP :(
