The Yesterday

Firstly, sorry for the splurge of posts yesterday, ever get one of those days where you just have too many ideas in your head to save for later? Yeah. With my memory it's best to get them all out at once!

Wasn't yesterday gorgeous (UK'ers at least?), I couldn't help but be cheered...even work didn't deter my enthusiasm for the weather, my desk gets the morning sun and with the window open I could have been outside.
Walking home, no coat on and bare arms was the most delightful feeling.

Anyway, enough waxing lyrical about the weather; I am a true Brit! Here's what I wore.

006

You can't really see but the tights are patterned on the front and block black on the back (thanks Hannah!)

001

Accessorised with Timex watch (ugh to the time!) and Ruby Rae Love bracelet

And my all-time favourite necklace from Go Jewellery

004

And lastly,
now I know Matt has received his fiver challenge parcel, here is what I made.

I can't believe it is Thursday already...seriously time...what is going on?

Azaya Blue: Jewellery Line

AZAYA BLUE is a new, non-traditional and high quality fashion jewelry and accessories line that is using social media as a funding platform to build their creative business and brand.

Before launching their Fall 2011 line at retail, they will make part of their collection available to fashion enthusiasts for pre-order on Kickstarter, the hip new social media fuelled business financing site. These signature pieces will be available in limited edition colours, and at a fraction of the retail price.

We’re reaching out and engaging the Kickstarter community as a non-traditional solution for launching a brand” says Nicole Schock, fashion entrepreneur and cofounder.

AZAYA BLUE is a new jewelry and accessories line that is about feeling feminine, empowered and strong. The line is set to launch in the USA in Fall 2011. Designer and cofounder Kata Kekedi set out to create non-traditional, high quality fashion jewelry and accessories that are made to last. Her pieces capture a seductive and luxurious mood, incorporating leather, crystals and exotic materials.

AZAYA BLUE brings a modern product design influence to fashion jewelry, using uncommon materials like stingray hide, modern techniques such as laser cutting and unconventional colours. The line also brings elements of fashion jewelry design to the creation of handbags, blurring the boundary between jewelry and fashion accessories.

In Brief

This weekend....

Wearing; FLORALS because I am a walking Spring cliche

Jon Richard ring available here!

Sunshine; The weather has bought out the best in me, I am definitely a S.A.D. person. The emergence of Spring, warmer days and bright, beautiful sunshine has turned me in to a chirpier, more confident version of me.
I celebrated by purchasing these oh so adorable sweets!

Photobucket

Thanking; Witch skincare for coming up with this primer! My saviour!

Photobucket

Geeking; Geeking out over new drug rep pens at work (Becca, if your reading this...the obsession continues!) and these ones are PINK! I will forever be envious of my Mum's leopard print one.

Photobucket

Hi, my name is Laura and I hoard pens.

Wanting; SO MUCH! It's always the week before pay day that I find infinite things I want and need in my life, only to have lost interest or not be able to find them when the time arrives! Currently top of my list is this dress from River Island

Photobucket

I have new found love for this shade of blue!

How about you?

Molly Brown London

I don't know if it's just me, but come Spring I am always in need of gifts. Christmas is comparatively easy because there is so much themed tat/special gift sets around,
but Spring, and Summer seems to call for something different...and something suited to a variety of occasions...

Molly Brown London could well be the answer to my prayers for the most treasured of these occasions...
Mothers Day gifts, Christening Jewellery, Special girly Birthdays...a treat for yourself along the way...
Here are my favourites!
The Aurora (peppermint) fairy pendant falls under the Christenings category, now, in my 24 years I think I have only ever been to two Christenings but maybe now I'm growing up and friends will be starting to breed (oh I am crude) I will have reason to buy something so utterly adorable.

Deep Pink Festival Friendship bracelet (also available in three other colours) may not be the cheapest of gifts at £32, but I think for an 18th or 21st present for your very best friend..or a Mother's day gift for dear old Mum it is perfect and a gorgeous accent to bare arms for Summer! It also reminds me of teenage years at festivals being happy and care free, I will always have a special place in my heart for friendship bracelets!

The initial necklace...a classic, personalised present for alllll occasions! Seriously, how can you go wrong? I'd be tempted to buy an initial for a nickname as an extra personal touch!

JELLYBEAN pendants. Can you guess who's birthday I think one of these would be ideal for? (It's April 28th by the way...thankyouverymuch)

Check it out at www.mollybrownlondon.com and let me know your thoughts!

What's the most treasured gift you've been given? For me, there have been too many to mention, I'm a sentimental fool like that,
but on a superficial level, the Irregular Choice shoes that Alex and Char bought me last summer would be topping the list for sure. Remind me to wear/blog them soon!

A Bit more Bling

I told you there was more jewellery coming and here it is!

Jon Richard jewellery!

This post is really only an introduction as I plan on featuring the individual pieces as I wear them, but for those of you not familiar with the brand here's a bit of background information;

"It's our philosophy that makes our inspirational jewellery brand so unique. We believe that you have to be out there yourself to see what's going on. That's why our buying team is 100 per cent fashion focused. They visit catwalk shows and exhibitions and travel the world to discover the trends that help us create stunning pieces. We cater to every woman's taste - from funky fashionistas to style-savvy fifty somethings and blushing brides. Jewellery for individuals that's beautifully packaged to give the ultimate wow factor."

Jon Richard Jewellery caters a range of brands stocked online and throughout Debenhams stores, such as Jon Richard, Mood, Simply Silver, Betty Jackson and Matthew Williamson. We also work with Swarovski collections. For A/W’11, we are starting to supply Designers at Debenhams with jewellery and accessories for Star by Julien Macdonald, Principles by BENdiLISI and Jasper by Jasper Conran.

The pieces are entirely stunning, each in their own way, of note are the Swarvoski crystal earrings and the amazing skull ring
(oh, and the cat brooch which Mum promptly swiped!)

Seriously.Besotted.

The interpol gig Saturday night was the perfect time to debut the Skull ring

A skull ring has been on my lust-list for a long, long time so to say I was delighted to receive this is probably the understatement of the year (so far!)

I can't wait to wear and share the other pieces...
what has caught your eye on the website? Which collection best suits your personality?

Acne Jewellery Capsule Collection with Husam El Odeh

Starting from mid March 2011, Acne will launch an exclusive jewellery capsule collection at thecorner.comthe online boutique showcasing a selection of cutting-edge fashion and accessories for men and women through dedicated mini-stores.

The Metalized shell collection exclusively conceived for thecorner.com is based on the Spring/Summer 11 Seafindings Jewellery collaboration between Husam el Odeh and Acne.

“When we first talked about collaborating with Husam about two years ago, I recall saying that I was hoping for an ongoing exploration, a relationship rather than a one night stand. Our collaborations have definitively developed into a creative love affair. There is no one I’d rather work with on this exclusive project for thecorner.com.”
Jonny Johansson

“For thecorner.com we wanted to give the romanticism of seaside findings a bit of a graphic edge. The luxurious materials keep a rawness juxtaposed with inserts and clean lines. It is an exercise in two materials, cold hard metal and warm soft shell, both picking up elements from one another. All pieces are handcrafted in London and individually unique as every piece of shell is hand-carved.”
Husam El Odeh

The collection consists of five styles including earrings, cuffs, double rings, rings and bangles. Every piece comes in a numbered edition of between 5 to 25 depending on style and material. They are all handmade with individually carved seashells on a base of either silver plated brass or solid sterling.

London Wishes

You have have noticed a pretty little banner in my side bar by now. It comes from two beautiful girls named Caithlin & Eva whom I have been e-mailing back and forwards with for some time now.

They own an online shop named London Wishes and I'm supporting them 100% on their adventures in pretty jewellery.

Here's a bit about the girls from Eva herself;

"Caithlin & me have been making little pieces of jewellery for years, at the beginning we gave them to our families and later on to friends. They have encouraged us to start London Wishes on line; but it wasn't easy at all, it's being hard but we firmly believe that "when there's a will there's a way"

London Wishes specializes in limited edition pieces and vintage inspired jewellery. We are from London & Madrid and love afternoon tea, our wellington boots for festivals, animals, nature and getting lost looking for special places.
Our pieces are inspired by romance, cupcakes and candles...
Welcome to our whimsical world"

The girls kindly sent me a package stuffed full of pretty things, I plan to show them individually as I wear them, but here is a sneak peek at what was inside.

Photobucket

My favourite piece has to be the bracelet, it is very apt don't you think?

Photobucket

I'm wearing it today, along with a bargain outfit consisting of £5 flared jeans and a £3 vintage jumper (with a £1.99 New Look cami underneath...these are brilliant basics, I have several!)
