Red Carpet Event: Filmfare awards 2011(Part 1)

Who: Sonakshi Sinha

Looks like someone read our blogpost and took our advice! Sonakshi, finally in something that is youthful and bright. The color and the draping is just gorgeous and I love her cascading curls. The fresh look just hit the right note for the occasion. Congrats on winning the best debut of the year for 'Dabaang'.

Who: Genelia D'Souza, Neha Dhupia

Genezlia - Other than the color, there is nothing I like here.

On the fence for Neha's dress. The color and style is pretty neat but somehow the outfit falls flat and really doesn't excite me.

Who: Rani Mukerjee, Sridevi

Rani - This is the only pic available and can I just say WOW!! Love the way the fabric falls. The blue really compliments her skin color and the look is just tres magnifique!

Sridevi- Great color, great outfit but the creases are so bad that it distracts and completely takes away the beauty of the dress.

Who: Prachi Desai, Malaika Arora Khan

Not a big fan of Prachi but have to say she looks cute with the side plait. As for the dress, the bottom part could be used as a toilet brush, no?

Malaika - This woman is flawless. She only has one look - the cougar look and dayum, she has perfected it!!

Who: Amrita Puri, Suzanne Roshan

Finally, someone in scarlet red!! Both are great dresses - Amrita's dress is beautifully tailored (love the pleats on the bodice) and Suzanne has sexy draping. Suzzane went a little overboard with matching accessories and red hair so this one goes to Amrita.

Who: Mugdha Godse, Sameera Reddy

Even though her clutch color is a little jarring, I like Mugdha with her shiny, slick hair. She looks chic and sassy.

Sameera - This is how a dress designed by a 'split-personality soap-opera character' would look like - loud, loud and so OTT!!

Who: Malaika Arora Khan
Where: Sahara Star New York party announcement

Malaika did the mini + blazer combo pairing a gold BCBG(??) dress with a black blazer and nude Loubs. Two things (i) Having never looked beyond her always-on-display-legs, I didn't realize she is quite pretty (ii) not sure I like black with this shade of gold..Shoes, I will take anyday.

Who: Urmila Matondakar
Where: Anita Dogre Store launch

Urmila wore a cute, printed one-shoulder dress to the store opening. Love the dress and the shoes make the orange in the dress pop out. Orange clutch - an overkill..
Looks like her hair stylist had a day off.

Who: Raveena Tandon, Tisca Chopra, Gul Panang
Where: Anita Dogre Store launch

Raveena - So many things messed up here. The waistband is too wide of her size, the dress too long and the shoes just plain wrong. BV clutch - always right.

Tisca - Love her Tod's Bauletto satchel and her perfectly polished look.

Gul - Too blinded by her red shoes to look at anything else..

Who: Mugdha Godse
Where: Herbalife launch

Ooh la la, That is a great look on Mugdha! She is uber-fancy in a cream gown with sheer overlay skirt. The gold embellishment at the neck is a nice touch and I love the way the skirt flows. You like?

Jacqueline - Lets just admire her shoes and move on..I mean, seriously how high has she worn her shorts? The look - Baboon or Buffoon ?

Mandira - Cant think of one nice thing to say:P
Wait a sec, Isnt the hand the symbol of one on the major political party (Congress-I)?? If I were the leader of that party, I would be really worried..

Celebs at Lakme Fashion Week Winter 2010

Left: Rani Mukherjee, Right: Mugdha Godse

Rani in a yawn inducing outfit that combines her two current loves - black color and jumpsuits. I anoint thee Queen of Snoozeville!!

Black is the color of the day for Mughda! She wore a black jumpsuit to the Araish event and in the evening, changed into a black anarkali for Neeta Lulla's show. Cant find any major flaws other than her shoes..

Who:Tabu
Left: Shabana Azmi's party, Right: Lakme Fashion Week 2010

Tabu continue her love affair with sequins and short dresses. I like her white/gold outfit - its good I cant see her shoes since I am sureto be disappointed:-) The blue looks good on Tabu but I am not sure about the fit of the dress..Its really looks like a sack..

Juhi and Amisha wore anarkalis to Neeta Lulla's fashion show. One looks graceful and elegant, the other looks like an idiotic moron..No prizes for guessing which one is which:-)

Who: Soniya Mehra

Its just not my day when even Soniya fails to cheer me up!! Sigh..Soniya wore a floral, multi-tiered dress to the event. I like her side-braid, the floral part of the dress and her gorgeous oxfords. The polka-dot part just doesn't flow with the rest of the outfit..Maybe if the dots were closer...

Events: Araish Save the child exhibition

Who: Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle makes few appearance but when she does, she sure does make us sit up. She wore a bright flowery pattern dress that isn't too frenetic and shows off her stems:-) She smartly balanced the hyper-hued combo with nude shoes and and a simple structured bag with metallic detail. The overall effect is fresh without being over the top girly.

Who: Malaika Arora Khan

Malaika picked a classic, black, tailored, dress short to wear to the event. She spruced up the look with purple bag, jewelry and, of course, plenty of leg. I like how she chose to tuck in her striped top, as it prevents the look from being too casual..Not sure why she picked those nudish-pink wedges??

It just so happens that I came across the same combination (black bottoms + striped top) styled differently by two fashion bloggers. See here and here for style inspirations.

Who: Mugdha Godse

One step forward, two step backward - thats how Mugdha and Fashion go. Waist up Mugdha looks cute and adorable - I give her points for that. But those tapered legs are just nutso!! And if that much ugliness was not enough, she added pink shoes.

I love vests - they are so versatile. You can wear it with jeans, dresses or shorts, buttoned up or open. This is one of the rare occasions where I don't like the vest-jeans ensemble. I think its the shirt collar and the vest style which gives Gauri a very cocktail waitress look..Shiny face and shiny hair:-) Her hair does look gawjus..

Who: Madhoo
Where: American food festival

Ok, today is not my lucky day. Another vest done to waste. I do like the metallic silver color of Madhoo's vest but the clown sleeves and the length of the shirt are a downer...

Who: Lara Dutta
Where:"Antardwand" premiere

White on white - so ethereal and summery but never looked so awkward!! The top has been cut like a dress and doesnt really go with the loose pants. Are those salvaars? Seems a little short and the cuff at the bottom is not right..Ditch the pants and u will be good to go:-)

Who: Mugdha Godse
Where: "Aashayein" premiere

Another decent look from Mugdha?? She has totally changed her stylist!!
Mugdha piles on the necklaces with her peach dress which she paired with black peep-toes and clutch. Cute, safe look and I cant take it anymore!! Who will I ridicule??....right, we still have the Celinas and the Amishas...

India International Jewellery Week - Day five

Ok, I get it that its a jewelery show and clothes are not the focus but how could they make these two pretty girls wear such atrocious clothes?? Both are wearing outfits from Archana Kochhar. This begs the question who the hell buys clothes from her and how come the designer has not filed for bankruptcy yet!!!

Who: Giselle Monteiro

I love her gorgeous, soft curls. The baby blue gown is decent. I think they have wrapped a necklace around her waist..hmmm, not a bad idea..

Who: Mugdha Godse

Love how softly this luxurious looking gown drapes and fall. Could have been a winner except for the fungal growth near the waist..Mugdha looks nice in coral makeup..

Mugdha wore a one-shoulder dress in a quirky print to her new movie premiere. I usually love prints but there is something in the color combination that is throwing me off. Mugdha got her handbag and shoe right but then went on to add some really tacky neon green bangles. I bet those glow in the dark - the idea being to lure innocent people to her movie showing:-)

I love everything about the guest's look - the color, the draping, the bejeweled shoulders and her long necklace. I want!!

Whats up with this trend of wearing scarfs with salvaar-suits? If Vidya and Rani could not pull off this look with Sabyasachi outfits, then chica, dont you think u are being a bit ambitious?

Mugdha wore a pretty aqua colored dress to a film screening but overdosed on the accessories. The handbag is really too big as well the wrong shape and the necklace looks a little tacky. A near-miss.

Priyanka kept it simple in a Grey dress, cute white handbag and flip-flops. I always find anything in grey very polished:-) So what do you think of Priyanka's dressed down look?

Another bright dress for today!! Sunidhi glams it up during Idol 5 promotions in lovely orange dress. Love her look. Havent seen a whole lot of celebs in this color which is bright without being in ur face..

Back to back appearances in decent outfits - with no major fashion faux pas!! I think my world just stopped spinning. If Mugdha can clean up her act, then there is hope for Lindsay Lohan!! ( nope, Amisha Patel is a lost cause). Both are pretty dresses. I do like the right one a lot - the print reminds me of Van Gogh's "A Starry Night". No to the orange t-strap shoes but the matchy blue shoes on the right really work...
