John Galliano’s Paris Show Scaled Down To A Presentation

The runway show for John Galliano’s eponymous label scheduled this Saturday has been canceled, but the line he designed for Dior will come down the catwalk on Friday as scheduled. An unnamed source told Agence France Presse that executives at Dior had decided to scale back the John Galliano show, which are generally regarded to be some of the most outlandish runway shows at Paris Fashion Week, in favor of a private presentation for buyers and members of the press. The move to downsize the show will no doubt be very costly — but money is the least of the worries on hand for executives at LVMH, the luxury conglomerate that owns Dior and a bevy of other fashion labels. After firing Galliano yesterday, Dior will have to hire a replacement and decide what should be done with Galliano’s eponymous label, which it also owns.
