Goodbye 2009

As much as I would love to make this post a recap of the last 12 months, I'm working with dodgy internet, and up till half an hour ago didn't expect to be able to get online at all.

Instead, I'd like to say THANK YOU, all of you, for the continued support and encouragement, both on my first blog (r.i.p.) and then, when I had to move over to this one.
It's hard to sum up what blogging has done for me, without sounding like a complete loser, so I won't,
I just want to make my gratitude known; for helping make 2009 a better year than I've had in a long while.

I will be back with an outfit post and my usual rubbish as soon as my internet allows me to make a more photo orientated post
(hopefully I can still comment on everyone's as I have a quiet night ahead of me)

Whatever you do for this New Years Eve,
Be Happy, Be safe and HAVE FUN

Violets are Blue and So are My Roses.

Jumpsuit ASOS, Blouse Miss Selfridges, Lace Leggings Topshop, Biker Jacket ASOS, Boots H&M, Snood H&M, Ring Ebay

It felt like Christmas morning again today as three of my recent online purchases arrived. Also the dress arrived yesterday it is more than perfect, I am going to have it shortened as it sits just below the knee which is not that flattering. I will find the Vogue editorial of it and put it on a post.

I am wearing two of my pieces that arrived this morning the ring which was a bargain £0.99 won on Ebay and my ASOS jumpsuit which I totally adore I am a big fan of jumpsuits and I do tend to find that they are an occurred taste but I have been wearing them for years and I love that they are easier to find now they have become more mainstream. I have teamed the outfit off with my H&M snood as I have not worn it for ages I also put a blouse under the jumpsuit and a pair of lace leggings as it would be a little chilly to be wearing it on its own. I love the blue rose print against the black it gives a twist to the girly roses.

30.12 over knee

Hello, how are we all doing? Going mad in the sales? I'm still yet to venture in to them, though have been browsing online, sadly Christmas has depleted my funds even further than usual so I've not bought anything, but half the fun is the looking and dreaming.

Debuting my over-knee boots today, from Asos, they were a present from my parents.
It's quite strange to be wearing something so high on the leg, and I'm sure they are meant to be higher, but being tall kind of ruins the effect somewhat.

Still working on those new year resolutions, without much luck! As of today the house is a little bit quieter as brother has gone back to uni to celebrate the arrival of 2010 (scary!) with his friends.

Waiting for DHL

There is no outfit post today as I am off work and I am staying in waiting for DHL my sister gets married next September and as I am always so prepared I have ordered my dress that I am going to wear I saw it ages ago and it went down 50% in the sale so I ordered it Christmas Eve and it is due today I am so excited as I saw it back in February at London Fashion Week and now it finally belongs to me it has also been featured in Vogue. You will have to wait until September to see it :)

I have decided as I have one more month left of my A/W uniform that I will show you how I have taken one dress and created ten different looks over the past five months. I can't wait to pick my new uniform as I am slightly bored and running out of ideas of how to wear my uniform and keep it exciting for you guys. My favorite is the one with the fringe cardigan and the H&M lace up thigh high boots :). Whats yours?

28.12 the inbetween days

I might be in the minority here, but I LOVE the days between Christmas and New Year almost as much as the main event itself.
It's one of the few times a year I find myself full able to relax and take life at a slower pace, indulging in things I can never usually settle to do, like read during the day and not constantly have that feeling that there is something I MUST be doing.

I'm becoming less sore from falling, so walks are on the agenda before the snow returns. Looking out my window now I can see bright blue skies, and the air is crisp and clean.

When it comes to outfits I find myself opting for jeans and simples tees over my usual dresses and tights,
My makeup also becomes more neutral as for a rare few days I become more comfortable with how I look.

I've decided I'm going to stay in this New Year. My parents have friends over, who I know and like, so I will catch up with them and also watch the DVDs I was given for Christmas (The September Issue and Coco before Chanel). I'm not a big party person and find night time socialising exhausting,
Again, that might make me a bit...odd, but it's just how I am.

What will you be doing for NYE? Have you made your resolutions yet? I've not yet decided on mine, but have got a couple in mind.

Sale Time

Trousers Topshop, Cardigan Topshop, Boots Topshop, Belt Topshop, Cuffs New Look
My outfit is a little tame today I was back to work and had to be up 6am this morning as the store opened at 8am ready for the sale shoppers. I was so tired and could not really think about what to wear so I went safe with my leather look trousers and oh so comfortable Topshop boots. I watched Grey Gardens last night with Drew Barrymore playing Edie Beale who was Jackie Onassis's cousin it is such a cool film I really recommend it and the outfits are amazing. I watched the documentary about three years ago and Marc Jacobs actually used her as inspiration for his S/S08 collection and the Little Edie bag from Fall 2007 was named after her. I recommend watching the documentary first read about it here then the film makes more sense.

I think we have a very lazy day ahead of us here, I was the only one who didn't drink, so the only one likely to feel like doing anything other than laze on the sofa!
I would go for a nice long walk, but I'm bruised and sore after a fall on the ice Christmas Eve, so I think I will be sloth like too!

Christmas Eve Lunch

Skirt Ronit Zilkha, Top Ronit Zilkha, Coat Ronit Zilkha, Belt Topshop, Shoes New Look, Handmuff Ebay, Belt worn around Wrist New Look

I am off to my Nana's for lunch I love Christmas Eve in some ways I prefer it to Christmas Day.
I love the excitement which as this very moment is hugh :)

Today's outfit is inspired by Carrie Bradshaw's outfit in season 6 Episode 94 An American Girl in Paris. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and decided that I wanted a similar outfit for today. I used to work for an amazing designer called Ronit Zilkha unfortunately she went bust a few years ago I miss her designs very much as she was inspired by flea markets and vintage pieces I am fortunate enough to have an amazing collection of her clothes and everything I am wearing today is by her. I hope one day that she decides to design again and this post is dedicated to her creativity. I added the gold beads to the black top it took me about four hours.

I want to wish all my gorgeous stylish followers a Happy Stylish Christmas and I want to thank you all for following and for all your lovely comments

Merry Christmas Everyone....

Ah, who can believe that another year has past and here we are celebrating Christmas again! And what a year it has been... Busy? Indeed! Inspirational? For sure! Hard work? Of course! But, as we reach the end of 2009, I have to say that it's been a lovely year... After all, we are all alive, healthy and well - and our lives are full of colour and beauty. And if life has blessed us with this joy, then, yes! It has been a lovely year.
I hope that 2009 was full of joy for you all - and looking forward, that 2010 will fulfill all of your dreams.
In the meantime, I'll leave you with the latest cover of Country Style. Could there be a more gorgeous way to spend Christmas than at a table like this one? Filled with family and friends
Merry Christmas all....
Keep well and safe. And, happy, of course!
