The baby refers to Cris Jr, and it seems that the media made it sounds like Katia really meant that the mother is truly died.
Of course the quotes that supposed to be clearing the rumor about the baby mama drama, actually turns out to be creating a new one. Katia was upset when she said that, and the media was that stupid to take the quotes literally and didn't even think that she was using a metaphore.
Nova Gente, the Portuguese media that first brought the interview has wrote that the international press forgot to read the whole article, and instead only underlined the quotes. They also explained that Katia was just trying to explain in a "metaphore way" that the child custody would still belong to the father, and the biological mother didn't intends to claim the baby.
